St Lukes with ST James

St Luke's church stands in La Route du Fort, between Beach Road and Colomberie adjacent to Howard Davis Park St Helier.

The parish was formed in 1846 to cater for the rapidly increasing population of St Helier covering the Havre des Pas region.

General Touzel laid the foundation stone in 1848. Built of Jersey granite, by 1851 the church was completed and ready for its first service taken by the Very Rev. W.C. Le Breton {father of Lillie Langtry}.

The church was consecrated on 28 April 1852.
